Born in the historic town of Yellow Mountain, China, Boya has always felt a deep connection to the landscapes around her, where geology, culture, and society converge. This connection drives her passion for designing with local materials and plants, creating intimate, sustainable environments that reflect both their history and future.

Her work is informed by a broad perspective that includes studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, where she was awarded a Community Service Fellowship to collaborate with local artists and communities in Potsdam, New York. She also worked on sustainable stormwater management and community engagement projects across the Netherlands and Japan.

Boya’s design philosophy emphasizes locality, sustainability, and the ability of landscape architecture to evoke broader social, cultural, and ecological contexts.
