Asha Shagle 

Asha grew up in a vibrant culture that is deeply rooted in nature with reverence for all beings - living and non-living. This holistic approach, grounded in ideals of personification, instilled the belief that everything is connected and that every link tells a story. After two decades of practice, it is precisely this integrative, multidisciplinary reach that keeps her energized. She believes that comprehensive landscapes that represent all influential factors can restore a place's spirit and uplift every individual and the collective environment.

After a brief period as an Architect, she quickly migrated to Landscape Architecture. She started her career in her hometown, Bangalore, India. Since then, her journey, spanning 25 years of global experience, has taken her to multiple locations. Her career has included a wide range of projects, from strategic-level master plans and large-scale public realms to hospitality, multifamily residential, public parks, educational facilities, ravine and bluff remediation, bird habitat creation, and residential and commercial developments.

Asha is a proud member of the DC Board of Architecture, Interior Design, and Landscape Architecture (DLCP), appointed by the mayor. She is enthusiastic about the board's educational outreach and is an eager participant in educational opportunities with peers and the public at large. In her spare time, she continues her creative hobbies, including embroidery, painting, baking, and storytelling.  The fresh perspective she derives from her travels with her daughter brings a new energy to her practice.
